2006 Christmas box

Forces favourite Nell McAndrew joined Derek Twigg, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State for Defence and BAE Systems' Director Ian King in waving off the last of 22,000 Christmas goodie boxes destined for the troops.

Affectionately known as 'Square Stockings', a box was delivered to every UK Serviceman and Servicewoman on operational duty in Iraq, Afghanistan and all other areas at Christmas as a 'Thank You' for their work and commitment.

The Christmas Box tradition goes back to the First World War. It is now in its third year and much appreciated by troops.  The contents are fun but useful and even the box can be reused - the lid doubles as a photo-frame and the box itself can be flat-packed for easy storage and transportation.

uk4u Thanks! would like to express their sincere 'Thanks' to all of the sponsors and would like to remind you that the charity is always looking at new ideas for the Christmas Box, and to ensure the success and appreciation of this gift we still need sponsors and donations to cover the costs.
